THANK YOU 7/5/08
The Dazzlers would like to thank the Team at LJM Design
for their tireless efforts in developing the new Dazzler
Website. No stone has been left unturned in the work up
and we could not be more appreciative of their efforts.
The most significant changes are:
- Streaming video
- Expanded History and profiles
- Addition of the Dazzler Vision, Mission and Values
- Downloadable Team Constitution and Newsletters
- Community and Sun Safe Pages
+ much, much more
The finished result is significantly better than our previous
offerings and certainly sets us apart from all other Clubs
of our size and type. Well done to all concerned.
Remember when ever you are talking to people always try to
refer them to our website as it lifts the profile of the Club
and will hopefully generate some additional work for the team
at LJM Design.
MIC RETIRES 1/5/08
After 1 campaign Mic Cali has announced
his retirement from the Dazzlers. 2007 was a big year for
Mic and he is pretty old, so it took a lot out of him. Mic
leaves the Club on very good terms and will always be welcomed
back.

A7 days to go, bring it on
23/1/07
Its finally here! This time next week we will be preparing
to take on the Rellies in our opening tour match at the 2007
Gold Field Ashes. Speaking with the Skip and Team Manager
earlier in the week it looks like we are all set to go. The
Skip has advise training is going extremely well with all
the boys putting in a fantastic effort.
Blackers and the crew will be heading out to the towers on
Thursday night as planned. With a rumor that a VIP guest,
Butters, may be included in the advanced party. With Butters
at the Ashes there will be no need to bring your CD\'d5s as
there maybe some old skool Karaoke battles going on! Thanks
to Blackers and the crew as it will be fantastic to have the
camp set up for the arrival of the team on Friday.
The 2007 Gold Field Ashes Draw
Day One
Dollar Dazzlers V The Rellies
Field 36, PM Start
The first match of this years tour will see the Dollar Dazzlers
take on The Rellies. Apparently the rellies are extremely
good in the field. As all of the younger members of the team
have either a brother who is also their father, or their parents
are brother and sister, or they are there uncle's fathers
nephews kids. With this inbreeding going on some of the players
are very quick on the boundary with an extra toe on each foot
they stop a lot of 4's. Some of the players have 6 fingers
which helps them take a lot of catches. They will not even
bother to take a dress as no players on their team are yet
to drop a catch. That's until they play the dazzlers of course,
because no matter how many fingers you have, with our sledging
you would drop a catch quicker then gumby would mount a woman!
Day Two
Dollar Dazzlers V The Farmers
Field 24 AM Start
This will be a vital match for the Dollar Dazzlers to ensure
they are well placed leading into the final days play. The
Farmers are a formidable team coming off a very impressive
65th place in last years tournament. They are a team to watch,
I have heard they are not the common farmers that grow cotton
or cane, but in-fact they grow a green plant with a distinct
smell. They are known to take catches that go extremely HIGH
and often like to take a HIT rather then hitting the ball
to the boundary. The Farmers often feel no pain and are oblivious
to the elements, they are known to influence their opponents
so we need to keep an eye on scotty.
Day Three
Dollar Dazzlers V Cummins XI
Field 15 PM Start
Cummins XI has racked up may great victories in recent years,
with tremendous finishes like last years 69th place. These
boys sound like a bunch of tradies and apprentices who know
how to have a good time, on and off the field, however they
seem to have a gay feeling about the team, which is better
suited for the mardi gra in sydney. When I think of the team
name Cummins, I think of a couple rassy quotes, "cummin
ya mouth" & "cummins on ya back". We may
need to watch out, as I have had heard of players going missing
for a few minutes when fielding a ball in the scrub, they
later return to play with a squeaky voice and a limp, they
are never the same bloke again.

Preview
With good form leading into this years tour
the dazzlers will be a team to watch out for. They are lightning
in the field and have a very strong top order batting line
up. With a number of quick bowlers to complement this years
Ashes side we will be right up their when the scores are counted.
There will also be a number of new sledging techniques showcased
at this year event. Including the Tourette's Syndrome by Rhino,
when fielding in close. Maybe silly mid on ! - Who has the
helmet???
We also need to keep an eye our for our old
rivals Poked United. The dazzlers brains trust has sent the
boys and official invite to join the dazzlers crew for afternoon
drinks following one of our matches!
