FAMILY DAY 2009 + EXTRA NIGHT

This years Carnival will see the introduction of 2 new initiatives:
1. Family Day
2. Addition of extra nights stay

This year on the Public Holiday Monday all Dazzler Family, Friends and supporters are invited out to Charters to Cheer the boys on for Day 3.

This initiative is intended to allow close associates of the club into the inner sanctum of the Club and see the internal workings of this sporting juggernaught.

More details will be released closer to the event so catering etc can be organised. DO NOT MISS THIS ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!!!!

For the Boys all players are advised that we will be staying in Charters for an Additional Night this year. We will play our final Game on the Monday and then attend the official presentation ceremony at GFA Head Quarters. This will be followed by our own presentations back at the Campsite.

ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY.

SPONSOR SEARCH

Please keep your eyes peeled for potential Sponsors for the Dazzlers at all times.

All Team Members should be looking for opportunities to engage businesses and individuals who may be interested in providing support to our Club.

We offer surprisingly good exposure for our sponsors for such a small club and are very flexible with any terms or requests. We are looking to provide mutually beneficial long term relationships with our sponsors and are looking to field a second Corporate side (DAZZLERS 2) post our 10 year anniversary.

We require this support to be able to continue to provide the team with the facilities and equipment that they have become accustomed to and we can not just leave it to a couple of people to generate these funds every year.

Good luck with your searching……

dazzlers funny bone

Billy was at school this morning and the teacher asked all the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came out, fireman, policeman, salesman, chippy, captain of industry etc, but Billy was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father.
"My father is an exotic dancer in a gay club and takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes if the offer is really good, he'll go out with a man, rent a cheap hotel room and let them sleep with him."
The teacher quickly set the other children some work and took little Billy aside to ask him if that was really true. "No" said Billy, "He plays cricket for England but I\'ca was\
just\'ca too embarrassed to say."

NEW dazzlers uniform

The dazzlers new uniforms are just too dam good not to showcase again in this weeks newsletter. All stained uniforms have now been washed and will be accompanying Macca to Townsville on their own seat! That\'d5s right Mark has informed me they will not be leaving his site until delivered to the team at the Jersey Presentation Friday Morning!

Both shirts & shorts have arrived and they are fantastic. Modeled below by the dazzlers No.1 Fan Kerry McNaught. With a massive shout out to Mark and the Team at Wanless Wastecorp who were instrumental in getting these shirts designed and manufactured. RHINO LEAVES 25/5/08
It is with regret we announce that Rhino (our Media Relations Manager) has announced that he will be taking a 12 month leave of absence to tour the U.K.

Rhino will be sadly missed both at the GFA Carnival and also his behind the scenes workload is massive so there will be plenty of opportunity for others to take up some slack.

We have advertised the Media Relations Manager role via the newsletter and all apllications need to be in VIDEO format and supplied to Craig or Mark Mc direct. Applications close 30th June 2008.

- Any other jobs as required by the Club

Marto has committed to still come and provide AV support to this years Carnival and provide support to the Interim Media Relations Manager.

HALL OF FAME VOTING FOR 2009 22/5/08
H.O.F. voting for 2009 has commenced. Please review the H.O.F. page on the website for an outline of what the expectation of a Hall of Fame inductee should be. Please note that for your candidate to been considered they must have played at least 100 games for the club and made significant contributions both on and off the field.

Please forward your nominations to Mark Mc Naught (email: mmc13890@bigpond.net.au) by close of business 30th of June 2008.

THANK YOU 7/5/08
The Dazzlers would like to thank the Team at LJM Design for their tireless efforts in developing the new Dazzler Website. No stone has been left unturned in the work up and we could not be more appreciative of their efforts.

The most significant changes are:
- Streaming video
- Expanded History and profiles
- Addition of the Dazzler Vision, Mission and Values
- Downloadable Team Constitution and Newsletters
- Community and Sun Safe Pages
+ much, much more

The finished result is significantly better than our previous offerings and certainly sets us apart from all other Clubs of our size and type. Well done to all concerned.

Remember when ever you are talking to people always try to refer them to our website as it lifts the profile of the Club and will hopefully generate some additional work for the team at LJM Design.

MIC RETIRES 1/5/08
After 1 campaign Mic Cali has announced his retirement from the Dazzlers. 2007 was a big year for Mic and he is pretty old, so it took a lot out of him. Mic leaves the Club on very good terms and will always be welcomed back.

A7 days to go, bring it on 23/1/07
Its finally here! This time next week we will be preparing to take on the Rellies in our opening tour match at the 2007 Gold Field Ashes. Speaking with the Skip and Team Manager earlier in the week it looks like we are all set to go. The Skip has advise training is going extremely well with all the boys putting in a fantastic effort.

Blackers and the crew will be heading out to the towers on Thursday night as planned. With a rumor that a VIP guest, Butters, may be included in the advanced party. With Butters at the Ashes there will be no need to bring your CD\'d5s as there maybe some old skool Karaoke battles going on! Thanks to Blackers and the crew as it will be fantastic to have the camp set up for the arrival of the team on Friday.

The 2007 Gold Field Ashes Draw

Day One
Dollar Dazzlers V The Rellies
Field 36, PM Start

The first match of this years tour will see the Dollar Dazzlers take on The Rellies. Apparently the rellies are extremely good in the field. As all of the younger members of the team have either a brother who is also their father, or their parents are brother and sister, or they are there uncle's fathers nephews kids. With this inbreeding going on some of the players are very quick on the boundary with an extra toe on each foot they stop a lot of 4's. Some of the players have 6 fingers which helps them take a lot of catches. They will not even bother to take a dress as no players on their team are yet to drop a catch. That's until they play the dazzlers of course, because no matter how many fingers you have, with our sledging you would drop a catch quicker then gumby would mount a woman!

Day Two
Dollar Dazzlers V The Farmers
Field 24 AM Start

This will be a vital match for the Dollar Dazzlers to ensure they are well placed leading into the final days play. The Farmers are a formidable team coming off a very impressive 65th place in last years tournament. They are a team to watch, I have heard they are not the common farmers that grow cotton or cane, but in-fact they grow a green plant with a distinct smell. They are known to take catches that go extremely HIGH and often like to take a HIT rather then hitting the ball to the boundary. The Farmers often feel no pain and are oblivious to the elements, they are known to influence their opponents so we need to keep an eye on scotty.

Day Three
Dollar Dazzlers V Cummins XI
Field 15 PM Start

Cummins XI has racked up may great victories in recent years, with tremendous finishes like last years 69th place. These boys sound like a bunch of tradies and apprentices who know how to have a good time, on and off the field, however they seem to have a gay feeling about the team, which is better suited for the mardi gra in sydney. When I think of the team name Cummins, I think of a couple rassy quotes, "cummin ya mouth" & "cummins on ya back". We may need to watch out, as I have had heard of players going missing for a few minutes when fielding a ball in the scrub, they later return to play with a squeaky voice and a limp, they are never the same bloke again.

Preview

With good form leading into this years tour the dazzlers will be a team to watch out for. They are lightning in the field and have a very strong top order batting line up. With a number of quick bowlers to complement this years Ashes side we will be right up their when the scores are counted.

There will also be a number of new sledging techniques showcased at this year event. Including the Tourette's Syndrome by Rhino, when fielding in close. Maybe silly mid on ! - Who has the helmet???

We also need to keep an eye our for our old rivals Poked United. The dazzlers brains trust has sent the boys and official invite to join the dazzlers crew for afternoon drinks following one of our matches!
